We are at a small SA town called Southend. The water is milky green. There are lots of fishing boats but no fish cooperative — the boys are trying their luck at the jetty tonight. The surf is nice — perfect for learning to body surf. We are camping at an overpriced caravan park in the ‘bush camping’ section – which means not much in the way if facilities — we’ll stick with national parks and free camping as much as possible from now on.
Beginning to relax. Working on my book and some projects and the next Action Pack magazine. Have not started homeschooling yet–feb! But we have begun our year of reading aloud — beginning with Enders Game. Lots of discussion so far including the one child policy in China and sibling rivalry.
We are working on sharing camping chores, learning to appreciate quiet time, respecting each others privacy and personal space and tidying up after ourselves. We are trying to slow down and appreciate the small things and we are discovering and learning to identify native plants we come across. We are hoping to overcome our shyness to meet new people, eat healthily, and we are beginning to attune our body clocks to getting up with the sun and going to bed with the sun.
